Systems

The Academy provides Risk Management Operations Manuals for direct usage in industry, small business and local government, the manuals are user friendly. The purpose of an WHS system is to provide direction and guidance for the effective continual implementation of the WHS Management System for the business. The WHS Management System does not limit or detract from the responsibilities contained within current legislation pertaining to workplace health and safety.

Management, that is those personnel who plan and direct work, are responsible for providing a place of work that is safe and without risk to health. This WHS Management System applies WHS to the day-to-day Management of the business and applies to all staff, visitors, customers and contractors.

The objectives of this WHS Management System are to:

  • Describe the controls and procedures which are in place at the business, to reduce or eliminate accidents during operations and to manage safety incidents
  • Plan, implement and continually improve the WHS Management System meeting the requirements of AS 45001
  • Consistently meet legislative requirements regarding WHS Management, performance and reporting
  • Provide, control and archive all documents relevant to the WHS Management System as evidence of conformity with the requirements of effective management of the system
  • Communicate the policies, objectives and targets of the WHS Program with the business

This System sets out the WHS Program laid down for the implementation and control of the Workplace Health and Safety Management System. The WHS Management System outlines the elements required as essential criteria that are consistent with best practice. The system has been formulated with reference to other management systems. i.e. AS 45001. Workplace Health and Safety Management Systems.

This WHS Management System has been developed and follows a basic framework i.e.:

  • Commitment and Policy
  • WHS Planning
  • Implementation
  • Measurement/Evaluation
  • Core Risk Programs

Words in this WHS management system documentation that are normally gender specific are to be regarded as gender neutral, and words that are normally plural may be regarded as singular having regard for the context.

The WHS Management System is not designed to be "stand alone" as it requires the development of a number of workplace specific manuals. Importantly, it is designed to assist the business to improve current programs and establish new ones

The WHS & EHS Systems are Quality endorsed by the AS/NZS Australia New Zealand Risk Management Association.
